Fixer Brazil is proud to support the production of the documentary “I Know That You Know I Exist”, currently being filmed in Brazil by Dutch filmmaker @tomasponsteen
Adopted from São Paulo in 1993, Tomas returns to his birthplace to explore a deeply personal and emotional journey. In this new film, he follows the stories of three Brazilian mothers who lost their children to adoption — while reflecting on his own origin and the absence of his birth mother. Told with empathy and cinematic intimacy, the film offers a mosaic of stories about love, loss, and identity.
The shoot has taken us through powerful and symbolic locations — from the extreme east side of São Paulo, where one of the mothers lives, to a nostalgic and colorful Amusement Park, where we captured poetic scenes of a mother enjoying time with her family.
The film is supported by the Dutch public broadcaster NPO and follows the international success of Tomas’s award-winning documentary Filho.
🎥 The film is being beautifully crafted by a talented crew, including DOP @jefrimrothuizen, sound recordist @anneloespabbruwee, and translator Karen Gronich @instadapupi, and local producer @tomazcavalieri who have brought sensitivity and dedication to every moment on set.
At @fixerbrazil, we’re honored to provide full production support to stories that cross borders and connect us through shared humanity.
